Connected metal work
This is an example of art being created more by accident than design.
Working in the garden building raised beds with wooden sleepers I picked up a batch of angle plates. Purely by accident they fell into a V-shape which looked interesting so I decided to play around with different shapes and combinations.
By coincidence my friend Jackie, who does my photography and prints, had given me a small box frame. The design I had produced fitted this perfectly.
I then had to decide how to decorate the work and as a first trial decided just to colour the outer edges using felt pens. An added touch was to using staples as the border.
Somewhat surprisingly the outcome was striking – shape, colour combinations and physical weight.
